Spend a morning plying The Pacific Rim's inshore waters or middle banks. Depending on conditions, timing, expected productivity, and group preference, this trip offers options: Fish along the coastline and amongst the islands for Salmon, Ling, and Rockfish, or troll the inner banks targeting Chinook and a chance at Halibut. This charter allows you to travel further when beneficial and spends significantly more time with the rods in the water than on the afternoon trip.
Our four-hour afternoon trips are a great introduction to the Salmon fishery of the inshore waters surrounding the Pacific Rim. Migratory runs of Chinook Salmon (King Salmon) and Coho Salmon both stop to feed along our coastline and through the Broken Group Islands. Drawn to the rugged underwater structure off the islands, Lingcod is a lesser-known crowd favourite to catch and delicious.
Soak in a mirage of sea life while you await your first big bite. Chomp Chomp, who's up to bat?

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a fishing licence?
Yes! All guests are required to purchase a tidal water fishing license. A parent or guardian may obtain a license for a guest under the age of 16. Please click here to obtain your tidal water fishing license.
How much does a tidal water fishing licence cost?
Licenses start at less than $10 for a day. For the most up-to-date information of BC Tidal Fishing Licences and regulations, please click here to visit the government of Canada's recreational fishing website.
Am I guarenteed to catch fish?
While we can't control the fish or whether you catch them, we know regardless, you will enjoy your time exploring the open waters of Canada's pristine Pacific Rim.
What should I wear?
We recommend dressing for the weather; depending on the time of the year, the requirements may differ. You can always pack layers and not wear them but you can't get that sweater you considered bringing once you're out there.... Our Captain is happy to make seasonal recommendations during the booking process.
I am worried about sea sickness, is there anything I can do to prepare?
Most pharmacies will offer sea sickness aids, we recommend talking to your pharmacist before your trip. Your guide can often offer a calm water fishing option in the case of swell offshore.
Does the boat have bathrooms?
Yes, there is a head (toilet) forward on the portside. We advise guests to use the dock facilities before boarding.
Can I bring food or drinks?
Absolutely, we have a cooler specifically for our guests and encourage you to bring snacks.
Do I need fishing gear?
We provide all the gear and bait. We fish Islander TR3 and Mr3 single action reels for trolling. Accurate, Shimano two speed reels, and Shimano Trevala rods for Halibut and Tuna.
How do you keep guests safe on the water?
We provide more than the necessities for safety: House mounted Transport Canada-certified 8-person liferaft with a hydrostatic release, Mcmurdo EPIRB, registered MMSI and all the basic transport Canada-mandated safety equipment.
Is there anything else I should bring?
We recommend bringing a cooler for your catch if you are driving home (the fish processor can provide airplane approved coolers for flying). Hat and sunglasses, sunscreen, a jacket, pants, a camera, and closed toes shoes are all good ideas too.

Is there a processor in town to package our catch?

Yes, your guide will typically clean your catch. The processor in town will fillet, portion to your specification, vacuum pack, then freeze and hold your catch until you head home. They provide salt flake ice or airplane approved flight coolers for traveling home with your processed catch.
